Post: La Fábrica de Sevilla seeks synergies to promote startups

Seville City Council and the Seville Chamber of Commerce receive 20 women entrepreneurs from 12 EU countries with the aim of promoting their entrepreneurial projects, creating synergies between the entrepreneurial ecosystems of the participating countries and promoting awareness of the resources of the city of Seville as an entrepreneurial space and developer of technology startups operating in the world.

For three weeks these entrepreneurs will participate in a special acceleration programme for their business projects within the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Seville through la Fábrica de Sevillaa programme promoted by the Chamber of Commerce, the city’s technological entrepreneurs and the city council to promote the city of Seville for the development of startups.

Last May, the first group of women participating in this programme took part, and they also spent the whole month in work sessions to empower themselves as entrepreneurs together with La Fábrica de Sevilla.

On their first day in the city, they were received first thing in the morning at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Seville, where the president, Mr. Francisco Herrero, welcomed them and where they were able to learn first-hand about all the initiatives related to entrepreneurship that are carried out by this institution.

After the welcome, they visited the Seville City Hall and were welcomed by the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, and the Delegate of Economy, Álvaro Pimentel. After a few words from the mayor encouraging the women to choose our city as the final destination to implement their projects, the Delegate of Economy guided them on a tour of the historic building and answered all the doubts and concerns of the European entrepreneurs.

During the three weeks that the entrepreneurs will be immersed in the programme, they will participate in various activities at La Fábrica de Sevilla, where they will have the opportunity to obtain tools that will facilitate the promotion of their businesses, as well as getting to know the Sevillian ecosystem and integrating themselves into it.

The projects selected for the programme belong to different areas that are in full expansion and development and that encompass objectives focused on sustainability, responsible consumption and the improvement of social conditions.

One of the most significant activities that will take place during these days is a local challenge in which they will have to define a strategy to position the city of Seville as an international benchmark in technological entrepreneurship.

They will work from the headquarters of La Fábrica de Sevilla together with the entrepreneur Javier Duro (from Footters), who belongs to the Founders Andalucía association. This organisation brings together the founders of the Andalusian startups with the greatest impact and seeks to boost the region’s ecosystem.

There will also be several master class sessions given by renowned Sevillian entrepreneurs. The first was with David Troya (from Ikono), with whom they had the opportunity to go deeper into the field of self-knowledge and personal development. Therefore, the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet and work alongside some of the biggest tech startup founders in the city.

In addition to the training offered, they have been appointed ambassadors of La Fábrica de Sevilla, an action that seeks to contribute to the creation of an international entrepreneurial community and to have a global impact on Seville and the opportunities that the city presents.
