Festival of International Tourist Interest, through which more than half a million visitors pass through every day, consisting of a massive spring festival lasting a week, where people gather and celebrate at the fairgrounds known as El Real de la Feria. Traditional Seville costumes are worn and horse-drawn carriages abound.
Christian festival in which the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated. It consists of carrying religious images throughout the city making specific routes. The processions are grouped in Brotherhoods (Cofradías o Hermandades). They are composed of nazarenos, and one, two or three pasos (images). In addition, they are accompanied by a music band. There are typical dishes that are consumed at this particular time of the year, such as torrijas (a kind of French toast) and potaje de vigilia (chickpeas, spinach and cod).
Tauromaquia (Bullfighting)
It consists of a bullfight in which several brave bulls are run on foot by a bullfighter. The show takes place in an enclosed area, the Plaza de la Real Maestranza de Caballería.
